Rectal manometry

THD Anopress-03.png

Anorectal manometry is a fundamental test for the accurate assessment of anal sphincter and rectal functionality. It is the only diagnostic test that measures rectal sensitivity, anal sphincter pressures and reflexes.

Manometric assessment of anal canal pressures reflects anal sphincter function. This includes measurements of pressures at rest, during maximal contraction, during exoneration.

These different measurements are not painful but are essential for the establishment of an adequate treatment and management protocol for our patients. Indeed, it will allow us to determine the mode of treatment to be used: radiofrequency, electroporation or both.
